School Trips

Throughout the year there are numerous school trips and events. The first phase of trips on 24th and 25th October went really well with students going to Belgium on one day and attending a DT/Food/Geography Day in school on the other day. The second phase is in the Summer Term on 10th 11th and 18th July 2013.

Upcoming events/Dates for your diary

The first SPRD was on the 14th November 2012. 90% of parents attended and by the end of November with rearranged appointments this had risen to 96.2%. Thank you so much for your support as your attendance is key to in making this a valuble and informative day for students and parents. The second SPRD is on the 8th March 2013. Year 9 Options Evening is on 7th February 2013 and Year 9 Parent Evening 28th February 2013. Please do put these dates in your diary as they are essential to help support your child throughout Year 9

Student of the week

Each week the tutor nominates a student of the week from their form group.  The Head of Year then selects a student from this list who is a worthy overall winner.

Attendance

For you to gain the greatest benefit from your education, good attendance is necessary.  Going to school regularly is important to your future. For example, students who miss school frequently can fall behind with their work and do less well in exams.  Arranging appointments and outings after school hours, at weekends or during school holidays will help to prevent disruption to your education at JRCS. Under normal circumstances, you should not expect the school to agree to your child going on holiday during term time.

Last Year Attendance figures 2011-2012

Well done to the 35 students who attended 100% last year and to the 4 forms 8A, 8B, 8C and 8G who had 100% attendance from every student in the form for a whole week.

Figures from the first term are very good with all forms exceeding the target and 60 students attending 100% of the time. Well done Year 9!
