New York- early 1950’s

Nathan Detriot is under a lot of pressure to find a place to hold his illegal dice game. Joey Biltmore will let him use his garage provided he coughs up $1000 in advance. He is also under a lot of pressure from Adelaide (his fiancée) who he has been engaged to for 14 years to finally get married.

He bets the biggest gambler of them all, Sky Masterson $1000 that he couldn’t take Miss Sarah Brown of the Salvation Army on a date to Havana in Cuba. Meanwhile, Big Jule, a gun wielding maniac is desperate to shoot crap and will kill if he doesn’t get his way; Lieutenant Brannigan of the New York Police Department is watching Nathan’s every move, and Sarah’s branch of the Salvation Army mission is about to be closed as they can not attract enough sinners.

Will Sky take Sarah to Havana or will Nathan win the bet? How much longer will Adelaide remain engaged to Nathan? Will Sarah be able to fill her church with genuine sinners? Will Brannigan be able to stop the dice game and will Big Jule have to shoot to get his way?
