Overview
The food and catering department at Jo Richardson Community School plays an important role in student development and preparing them for adulthood as well as opening up avenues to a career within the catering industry. The food and catering department aims to teach students about:

Homework Policy
Throughout Key Stage 3 and Key Stage 4 students will be asked to prepare equipment and ingredients for homework. Ingredients and equipment preparation may be set on a regular basis for each food and catering lesson. In year 7, 8 and 9 six formal homework tasks will be set throughout the work. If a student studies catering at Key Stage 4 then they will be expected to complete homework and coursework on a regular basis to meet the requirements of the specification.
Marking Policy
The food and catering department follows the whole school marking policy. Both practical and written work is assessed against predetermined criteria.
